Why is it called a Three Way Ball Valve?

• Three way valves have 3 ports allowing them to divert flow to one of two directions or mix flow from two sources, where as 2 way vales only have 2 ports and can only start or stop flow.

 

The two different styles of 3-Way Valves:

• T-Port Valves - also called diverter valves and can divert flow in one of two directions, or they can select flow between one of two sources.
• L-Port Valves - Also Called mixing valves and can combine two sources into one out let flow, or they can split a single source into two different directions.

 

Function of the 3-Way Ball Valve:

• To direct flow.

 

Installing a 3-Way Ball Valve:

•  To Install into your application simply thread Male Threads of the same size into either of the three female threaded ends.

 

Advantages of a 3 way Ball Valve:

• It allows you to divert flow from to one of two directions or to select flow from one of two sources.
• It allows you to mix flow from two sources or to divide the flow into two directions.
